MELBOURNE – The Saint Mary's men's basketball team was able to do some sightseeing on their third day in Melbourne on Friday afternoon, prior to its game against the Dandenong Rangers at night.
The sixth day of the Gaels' foreign tour down under started with a tour of St. Kilda Pier, some ocean swimming and ended with a trip to the outdoor market downtown Melbourne.
The full day of fun in Melbourne finished with a 92-78 win over the Rangers at the Dandenong Basketball Centre, right outside the city.
The Gaels led from start to finish, leading by 13 at halftime, 54-41 and never looked back in the second half.
Saint Mary's was led offensively by
Jordan Ford, who scored a game-high 22 points and added four assists and three steals.
Five Gaels scored in double-figures including Ford,
Malik Fitts had 12 points and 10 rebounds,
Kristers Zoriks had 12 points, five rebounds and four assists,
Jock Perry had 12 points and
Matthias Tass added 10 points.

"I think we started off good tonight, we just have to keep playing that way the entire game," Zoriks said. "The trip has been great so far. I think we are now trying to figure out what our role is. We have to find a way to be good. It's always fun hanging out with these guys. Melbourne is a great city, I really like it. It's been a nice experience."
The Gaels will take advantage of an off day on Saturday by taking in an Australian Football League game at the MCG Stadium in downtown Melbourne. Following the game, the Gaels will fly to Hobart, Tasmania in preparation for Sunday's game against the Hobart Chargers.
