SYDNEY – The Saint Mary's men's basketball team wrapped up their seventh game in 11 days of their foreign tour down under on Wednesday night, facing the Sydney Kings, one of the NBL's top franchises.
 
The Gaels took the morning to recover from last night's game and took it easy during the day in Sydney, prior to their biggest test of the trip against the Kings.
 
In front of a packed house at the Gosford Sports and Basketball Stadium, Saint Mary's dropped a tough 84-56 game to the Kings.
 
The Gaels were led offensively by sophomore Malik Fitts, who had 11 points and four rebounds, freshman Kristers Zoriks had nine points and freshman Matthias Tass had eight points off the bench.
 
"That was a tough test tonight, but it was good for us, we learned a lot and will get better from it," Zoriks said. "This tour really helped us come together as a group and find out about each other's style of play."
 
Saint Mary's saw some familiar faces playing for Sydney, who had two former Gaels in Daniel Kickert and Dane Pineau. Kickert scored 12 points for the Kings and Pineau had four points and five rebounds coming off the bench. Also playing for the Kings was former NBA All-Star Andrew Bogut, who had 12 points and 11 rebounds as the starting center.
 
The Gaels wrap up their foreign tour with a midday flight on Thursday out of Sydney, direct to San Francisco. Saint Mary's visited four cities and played seven games in an 11-day span.
