Jordan Harris picked up three wins between singles and doubles play on Friday.
MORAGA, Calif. — The Gaels began play at their host tournament on Friday and earned five wins between singles and doubles.
Jordan Harris led the team with three wins, including two on the doubles court. The sophomore teamed up with Chloe Goyette and began the day with a close 8-7 win over Ko/Tsukamoto from UC Davis. The Gaels' tandem then took on and easily defeated Wisconsin's Tudor/Zordani, 8-2.
Harris and Gabriela Tevez won in straight sets in singles action. Harris took down her opponent from San Jose State 6-4, 6-1 while the freshman Tevez won 6-0, 6-1 against Paige Alter from Sac State.
Tevez and Danielle McIntyre won the Gaels' fifth match with a convincing 8-4 victory over a duo from Cal Poly and Sac State. Tevez and McIntyre would be edged 8-6 in the next round of doubles play.
Saint Mary's returns to the courts tomorrow beginning at 8:30 a.m.
