BASE | Milam, Waldichuk Sweep Rawlings WCC Weekly Honors

MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's baseball opened the 2019 season with an exclamation point, sweeping Washington State for the program's first-ever four-game sweep of a Pac-12 team. Over the weekend, juniors and Preseason All-Americans Ken Waldichuk and Kevin Milam both put together impressive performances, earning them a sweep of the Rawlings West Coast Conference Weekly Honors.

Milam (who was named WCC Player of the Week) batted .643 (9-for-14) in his first four contests of the season. He delivered five runs batted in including a 2-run home run in his first at-bat. He also produced three doubles, six runs, walked five times, and put together a slugging percentage of 1.071 and an on-base percentage of .737.

Waldichuk (Pitcher of the Week) pitched a gem for SMC in their season opener on Friday. In his seven innings of work, he allowed zero runs while only giving up one hit and one walk, while striking six batters. He tossed just 85 pitches in his seven innings and retired 16 straight to end his line.

Saint Mary's will be back in action this weekend when head to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks February 22-24.
