BVB | Gaels Picked Second, Three Named to Preseason Team

MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's was picked to finish second in the WCC for the second-consecutive season while seniors Emily Bible, Sarah Chase, and Lindsey Knudsen were each named to the Preseason Team.
A year ago, the Gaels finished as runners up to Pepperdine who was ranked 2nd in the nation and who is now the three-time defending WCC Champion. With six first-place votes, the Waves are once again picked to finish atop the conference as they enter the season with a No. 4 national ranking. SMC is the only other team in the conference with a first-place vote and they finished 2018 with a 17-11 record.
Last season, Bible finished with a 16-12 record, was 5-1 while competing in the No. 1 position and 11-11 at No. 2. Meanwhile, Chase was 13-15 overall and played all of her matches on the third court. Finally, Knudsen finished the 2018 season also with a 16-12 mark, posting the same numbers as Bible (5-1 at No. 1 and 11-11 at No. 2). All three were on the All-WCC team last year including two receiving First Team honors (Chase and Knudsen).
