WTEN | Abdelouahid, Kozyreva to Compete in NCAA Championship

Hind Abdelouahid and Mariia Kozyreva will travel to Orlando, Florida to compete as a doubles tandem in the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship from May 20-25.

MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's women's tennis team will send doubles duo Mariia Kozyreva and Hind Abdelouahid to compete in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.

The championship will take place from May 20-25 and is hosted by the University of Central Florida and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.

The NCAA appearance for Saint Mary's will be the first time the Gaels have participated in the NCAA Tournament since the 2015 season. Kozyreva and Abdelouahid will compete in a field of 32 doubles teams during the first round. Saint Mary's and No. 15 Gonzaga will be the lone teams from the West Coast Conference competing in the championship.

Saint Mary's No. 32 tandem of Mariia Kozyreva and Hind Abdelouahid were named to the All-WCC First Doubles Team after a stellar spring season. The dynamic duo posted an impressive 11-1 overall record in the regular season this year and was a perfect 8-0 against the WCC.

The doubles pair will be awaiting their seed placement and opposition until further notice.
