BASE | Gaels release 2020 schedule

MORAGA, Calif. — With the 2020 season just over one month away, Saint Mary's College has announced its full schedule for the upcoming campaign. Included in this year's schedule are six home series and nine midweek games, with opponents slated to come to Moraga from as close as Berkeley to as far as Utah and New Jersey.
HOME OPENER – FEB. 17 vs. UTAH
The Gaels begin 2020 on the road with a trip to Huntsville, Texas to take on Sam Houston State in a three-game series beginning on February 14. Saint Mary's comes back home on February 17 to take on the University of Utah for their first matchup since 2016, when the Utes came to Louis Guisto Field. In the five previous matchups between the two programs, all five have come here in California. The quick single game precedes a weekend series in Los Angeles against the Bruins of UCLA.
FIRST HOMESTAND – FEB. 28 – MARCH 11
How does nine games in a row against five different teams sound? That's what fans will get when the Gaels have a near-three week homestand to conclude February and begin March. The homestand begins with a three-game series against UC Riverside and also features a three-game series against Seton Hall, making the trip out to Moraga for the first time. Single games on the homestand will also be play against San Jose State (March 3), UC Davis (March 10) and the University of Nevada (March 11).
BEST FROM 2019
Fans of Gaels baseball will know two of the most important teams on the schedule from last year: BYU and LMU. Both teams were playoff participants last year, with BYU owning the best regular season record in the West Coast Conference, while LMU won the championship by taking down the Gaels 4-2 in extra innings last year. This season, Saint Mary's will travel to LMU for a series on May 1-3, while BYU will get to play the Gaels at Louis Guisto Field on May 7-9, which also represents the last home series on the schedule.
