MTEN | Gaels to Play in Golden Gate Invite

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's men's tennis (4-4) will travel to Sacramento this weekend for the two day Golden Gate Invitational where they will face off against New Mexico State on Friday at 10 a.m. for the first round of action.

Based on the results of the first round, the Gaels will either play against Sacramento State or Hawaii for the second contest. More information about the tournament can be found here

LAST TIME OUT
The Gaels are coming off their first clean sheet of the season as they defeated UC Santa Cruz 7-0 last week for the third victory at home. SMC secured all six wins on singles courts in the contest with five of them coming in straight sets. Jackson Hawk was one of the Gaels who secured a victory for his first win of the season. In doubles action, the Gaels claimed the doubles point with wins from their top two doubles tandems.

NEW MEXICO STATE
The Aggies own a 6-6 overall record so far this season as they most recently fell to No. 18 Texas Tech and Tulsa in 4-0 decisions last weekend. New Mexico State is led by Nicolas Buitrago who has picked up six victories this year in singles action in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. In doubles action, Martin Simecek and Sebastian Herrera are the top doubles partnership have they have tallied four wins as a team.
