MORAGA, Calif. — With interim changes on-campus at Saint Mary's College due to the college's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Inaugural GAELA and 41st Annual Gael Golf Classic have been postponed. Despite these events being paused, there is still a unique opportunity to contribute to the student-athlete experience at Saint Mary's via the Steadauto.com Car Drawing, taking place on June 1.
As is well known, the NCAA, along with other professional sports leagues around the United States and the world, have postponed or canceled the remainder of their seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While this has put a halt on the many exciting events taking place on campus, investing in our student-athletes remains a priority. The Steadauto.com Car Drawing, originally an in-person part of the Inaugural GAELA, is a chance to do just that, with proceeds benefitting the Galloping Gaels Fund and student-athlete scholarships.
"The Steadauto.com Car Drawing is a great way for us to show that we are committed to our student-athletes," said Vice President for Athletics,
Mike Matoso. "It's been a difficult spring semester for all of our student-athletes, but this event is a fun way to help remain devoted to enhancing the experience in the classroom and on the field of play for all Gaels."
The drawing will take place on Monday, June 1 Live on the SMC Gaels Facebook page. Tickets are $150 each, and the deadline to renew past tickets is May 1. This year's Grand Prize is a 2020 Jeep Compass Latitude, or $20,000 in cash.
