MORAGA, Calif. - The Gaels had two singles players and a doubles tandem advance to day three of the ITA Northwest Regionals on Thursday.
James Watt's run of great play continued on Thursday as he defeated Rudolfs Aksenoks of Sacramento State 6-4, 7-5 in the Men's Open Singles Bracket. The 6'9" senior can really cover a lot of ground and glided his way into the semifinals Friday against Matheo Coupu of Nevada at 11:00 a.m.

Carlos Ramos Membrives was in a battle against Santiago Hinojosa of Santa Clara but came out on top 6-4, 6-3. He'll take on Mate Voros of Sac State at 11:00 a.m. on Friday as well.

Boris Reckow came up just short of an upset of three-seed Nitzan Ricklis of USF 5-7, 6-2, 6-3. But he and Watt did advance in the Men's Open Doubles bracket by defeating Satchel Benn and Daniel Dudockin of Nevada 8-6. They'll play in the semifinals at 9:00 a.m. Friday against Ryan Morgan and Ryan Torres of UC Davis.
