MORAGA, Calif. - James Watt advanced to the quarterfinal in the 64-player Men's Open Singles bracket of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northwest Regionals on Friday, as he defeated Matheo Coupu of the University of Nevada 7-6 (7), 1-6, 6-3.

It wasn't easy, but Watt moves on to face top seed in Philip Hjorth of Cal at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16 at the Korth Tennis Complex on the Campus of Saint Mary's.

Carlos Ramos Membrives impressive run in the Men's Open Singles bracket came to an end in a 6-2, 6-1 loss to Mate Voros of Sacramento State in the round of 16.

The Gaels remaining Men's Open Doubles combo of Watt and
Boris Reckow came up just short of advancing to the semifinal after falling to Ryan Morgan and Ryan Torres of UC Davis 6-7(4) 6-4 [10-3].
