LAST TIME OUT
Saint Mary's won both matches last weekend, scoring a pair of road wins over San Francisco and Santa Clara to push themselves just one game back of fourth place in the WCC. SMC handled the Dons with ease, taking care of business in straight sets, but things were considerably more difficult on Saturday afternoon against the Broncos. After winning the opening set, Saint Mary's combined to score just 20 points in the next two sets, falling into a 2-1 hole. They clawed back and won the final two sets to win the match in five, and sweeping the season series against the Broncos. Even more impressive, the Gaels were outdone in every statistical category on Saturday but still found a way to win what head coach
Rob Browning described as "one of the greatest comebacks in a long time."

ABOUT PORTLAND
After winning their WCC opener over Gonzaga, the Pilots have dropped eight of their last nine matches, with their lone win coming against the winless San Francisco Dons on October 16. Last week, the Pilots lost to LMU and #25 Pepperdine, taking one set from the Lions and being swept by the Waves. The Gaels and Pilots went into five sets the last time they met, with Portland struggling to receive serves. They allowed 19 aces from the Gaels, a program record, and on the year the Pilots have produced 165 serve receive errors. Jayde Harris is the only Pilot with over 100 kills, and she has exactly 200 on the year.

ABOUT GONZAGA
A rough weekend turned into a sweet ending for the Bulldogs, as they rebounded after being swept by #25 Pepperdine last Thursday. Hosting Loyola Marymount on Saturday afternoon, Gonzaga shocked the Lions and won in five sets, after winning the first two and nearly dropping the match anyways. The Bulldogs have been near the bottom of the conference all season, but did hand the Gaels one of their five conference losses back on September 30 after winning the final set 33-31. They allow opponent to hit at a .261 clip, one of the lowest marks in the WCC, and they only have 1.6 blocks per set on the season.
