SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's Men's Tennis Team racked up four wins in five of their matches on Friday during day one of the UCSB Classic.
James Watt defeated Jack Barnett of BYU 6-2, 6-2 in the A Flight Singles and
Boris Reckow defeated David Woodland of USF 6-3, 6-4 in the C Flight Singles. Watt will take on Phillip Jordan of UCSB on Saturday and Reckow will play Jonathan Zhang of Gauchos on day two.
On the doubles side of the tournament Watt and Reckow took down the Chaudhary/Lee combo from Stanford in the A Flight Doubles and the tandem of
Carlos Ramos Membrives and
Felipe Rincon defeated the Delisle/Keyser team from Cal Poly 8-5 in the C Flight Doubles.
Ramos-Membrives and Rincon will take on the UCSB team of Williams and Castillo tomorrow, who had bye on day one. The Watt/Reckow tandem will play Barnett/Thayne of BYU on Saturday.
