ABOUT TEXAS SOUTHERN
The Tigers went on a tear late during the 2020-21 season, winning their final nine games, including the SWAC championship game over Prairie View A&M, to earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament. They picked up their second NCAA Tournament win in program history after beating Mount St. Mary's in their First Four match, earning a date with top-seeded Michigan, where they fell to the Wolverines 82-66. They began their new season on Tuesday like Saint Mary's, but fell to No. 13 Oregon 83-66 in Eugene. John Walker III was their best player, leading the way with 19 points and six rebounds, while also getting to the line eight times. Their bugaboo was turnovers, coughing the ball up 16 times on Tuesday night.
