LAST TIME OUT
Saint Mary's made history one week ago by becoming just the third WCC program to reach the championship of the Maui Invitational. Their historic run through the annual tournament featured wins over Notre Dame and Oregon, en route to facing Wisconsin in the championship game. The Gaels pulled ahead in the final minute of the Notre Dame game before dominating Oregon and limiting them to just 50 points in the game. Against Wisconsin, Saint Mary's led by 10 points with 16 minutes remaining before the Badgers chipped away and eventually won by six. Saint Mary's started the year 6-0 for the first time since 2016-17.

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
Dan Fotu and Logan Johnson were named to the All-Tournament team at the Maui Invitational, making up two-fifths of the roster. Fotu was a star for the Gaels, averaging 16.3 points per game across the tournament, including 22 points and the game-winning three-pointer against Notre Dame. Johnson was great himself, scoring 29 points over three games, including 12 in the championship game. He tied a season-high in assists with five against Oregon, and added five rebounds against Wisconsin.

ABOUT UC RIVERSIDE
The Highlanders are rolling to the tune of three-straight wins, including a win at the Cerebro Sports Golden Turkey Classic on Monday against UTEP and a home win over Florida A&M. The season began in stunning fashion, as the Highlanders won their second of the year at the buzzer on a three-quarters court heave from JP Moorman II. That miraculous shot beat Arizona State 66-65 on the road and has helped buoy them to their current 5-2 record. Their defense has been strong, holding opponents to under 60 points per game and just 21% from three-point range.
