Tass Takes Home Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week Award

MORAGA, Calif. — Matthias Tass has been named the Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week after his strong performances at home and on the road last week for Saint Mary's Men's Basketball.
Tass was the lone Gael to score at least 10 points in all three games this week, as the Gaels went 2-1. He scored 18 points in their lone home game of the week (against UC Riverside), including making multiple threes in a game for the first time in his career. He also came one rebound shy of what would have been his first double-double on Saturday, with a season-best nine rebounds. Tass added 22 rebounds (7.3 rpg), nine assists (3 apg), two steals, and two blocks on the week.
Tass is the first men's basketball player to win the Bay Alarm Student Athlete of the Week award since his teammate Logan Johnson did so on March 6, 2021.
With finals week on the way at Saint Mary's, the Gaels will have a week off until their next Saturday afternoon matchup against UC Santa Barbara. Tip-off for the December 11 game against the Gauchos is scheduled for 3:00 pm inside University Credit Union Pavilion. With the return to home, Saint Mary's will not play another true road game until WCC play begins in January.
