MTEN | Gaels Pick Up Win Against Zags, 4-2

MORAGA, Calif. — The Gaels picked up an impressive win over Gonzaga at Korth Tennis Complex in their penultimate match of the season. With the victory, SMC improved to 5-13 and 2-5 in West Coast Conference action. 

Saint Mary's earned the doubles point after recording two close sets. The team's top tandem of James Watt and Boris Reckow got the ball rolling with a 6-4 win and shortly after, Damon Kesaris and Fabian Roensdorf secured the point with another 6-4 set on Court 2. 

GU (12-11, 1-6 WCC) would tie the score up in singles with a win from their No. 5 player but SMC retook the Zags with wins on Courts 1 and 3. Matis Bot earned the 6-2, 7-5 win in the 3-slot. Roensdorf would clinch the match for Saint Mary's on Court 4 as he powered past his opponent in a three-setter, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. 

The Gaels wrap up their regular season tomorrow against Portland beginning at 1 p.m. The team will honor it's three seniors before the match as part of Senior Day festivities.
