WSOC | Former Gael Diaz Signs with Houston Dash

MORAGA, Calif. — After spending the past few years playing abroad, former Saint Mary's standout Hannah Diaz returned to the states this week and made her debut with the NWSL's Houston Dash on Monday in a match against the Chicago Red Stars. The forward played seven minutes off the bench in her first ever NWSL contest.

Diaz signed a two-year contract with the Dash last week after spending the previous three seasons in the top French league for women's soccer. The Saint Mary's alum appeared in 27 matches for Fleury 91 across the past two years.

While in Moraga, Diaz was one of the most potent attackers the program has ever seen. She was named to the West Coast Conference's First Team three times and played in all 79 matches during her four years while starting 76 times. By the time she finished her college career, Diaz ranked tied for fourth all-time in program history in goals scored with 24 and fifth in points with 59.
