MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's Men's and Women's Soccer programs were recognized for their achievements in the classroom as 11 Gaels were selected to the 2022 Academic All-District Team.
Chosen by College Sports Communicators, formerly CoSida, the award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA, play in 50% of the games, and be athletically and academically a sophomore or older with at least one full year at their current institution.
First awarded in 1952, this precedes voting for Academic All-Americans, the award given to the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
11 Gaels were selected to the team, with five men and six women being honored. The following athletes received the recognition:
Greg Brighton 3.94 GPA, Biology
