SAN FRANCISCO – Men's Tennis took the doubles competition to start the day, but the Dons would take over from there at the Goldman Tennis Center for a 4-2 win over the Gaels.
 
Saint Mary's beat USF 4-3 back on March 11 to advance to the finals of the Golden State Invitational, after USF won the doubles point.
 
This time the Gaels won the doubles portion via a pair of 6-2 wins. Mathis Moysan and Carlos Ramos Membrives defeated Mitch Johnson and Nil Giraldez, while Caelan Potts and Felipe Rincon beat Niloa Kraica and Stevie Gould.
 
Karlo Divkovic's win over Johnson in singles 6-2, 7-6(2) cut it to a 3-2 lead for the Dons after they won three-straight singles matches. It took three sets for USF to seal the win in a battle between Gould and Ramos Membrives with the final set finishing 7-5.
