STOCKTON, Calif. — For the second time in four days, Saint Mary's Beach Volleyball took on the Pacific Tigers, this time at their place in Stockton. With this being the lone match of the week, the Gaels threw their top lines at the Tigers and emerged with a 4-1 victory over Pacific, improving to 2-0 over the Tigers and 5-4 on the season.
Â
Things got off to a split start on Tuesday as the Gaels and Tigers split in the fours and fives. Saint Mary's earned the win in the fours with
Trinity Durfee and
Aeriel Sundt winning a pair of highly-contested matches 22-20 and 21-18. At the same time, the fives were going the distance into a third game, where they ultimately dropped the final game 15-10.
Â
From that point on, Saint Mary's found their stride with their top-three pairs, as they took care of business to secure the win.
Karmin Brown and
Makenna Joyce got through the threes to win 21-14 and 21-10, and the clinching win came from
Jennifer "Boo" Laird and
Jasmin Suarez, who rolled in the top-flight to win 21-12 and 21-6.
Selbie Christensen and
Chandler Cowell wrapped up the successful day on the sand with wins of 21-15 and 21-12 to close out the Gaels fifth win in a row.
