MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's Golfer Kristian Bressum was named the Bay Alarm Company Student Athlete of the Week.
 
The freshman finished tied for third overall among 78 golfers at the Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by Penn State University this past weekend. Bressum finished 1-under par after shooting a 212 overall and had the most par fives made of any golfer, along with leading the Gaels in birdies with nine.
 
It's the second top-five finish for Bressum at a tournament this year, as he finished second at the Visit Stockton Invitational in October. He shot a 66 on day three to go with the 65 and 67 he shot on days one and two respectively to finish 15-under overall and just one stroke behind the top spot in Stockton. He led all golfers with 18 birdies in the tournament and shot a 198 on the par 71 course.
 
The Randers, Denmark native also led the Gaels at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford with a total score of 211 over the three rounds and was 8-under on par fives, second best of the 147 golfers.
