MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's Women's Soccer has released their full fall schedule for 2022 which features 10 home dates among 17 matches.
 
The Gaels are coming off a 10-4-4 record this past season in 2021. The win total was SMC's best since 2011 and it was their best winning percentage since 2001. The team received votes in the United Soccer Coaches top 25 for the first time since 2004, and had a player score eight or more goals in junior Suzuna Shibukawa for the first time since 2014.
 
Saint Mary's will start the 2022 campaign with three straight home matches and will kick off the season at home on Thursday, August 18 at 4:00 p.m. against Cal Poly.
 
NEW FACES IN NEW PLACES
 
The Gaels will host the Texas Tech Red Raiders for the first time in program history on Sunday, September 4 at 12:00 p.m. It will be just the second meeting ever between the WCC and Big 12 programs, and the first match up between the two since 2011. Texas Tech is coming off an 11-6-3 season in 2021.
 
The University of Pennsylvania will come to Moraga for the first ever meeting between the Gaels and the Quakers of the Ivy League – who finished 9-5-2 last season – on Thursday, September 15 at 4:00 p.m.
 
MORE FAMILIAR FOES
 
Saint Mary's will host Washington State of the Pac 12 on Sunday, September 18 at 1:00 p.m. It will be just the sixth meeting all time between the two schools, with the last match up coming in 2017. It will be the first time the Cougars have come to SMC since 1992.
 
National powerhouse BYU will make their final visit to the Saint Mary's campus as a member of the WCC on October 1 at 12:00 p.m. to kick off conference play. Saint Mary's will have an even split of four WCC games at home and four on the road.
 
Senior Day will be on the final home Saturday of the season against San Diego on October 22 at 12 p.m.
