XC | Gaels stay close as they head to Santa Clara for the Bronco Invitational

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Gaels will be heading to Santa Clara to compete in the Bronco Invitational on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
At the Pacific Invite, the women finished first overall for a third year in a row. Saint Mary's runners took up second to fourth place with Rayna Stanziano leading the Gaels, finishing in second place with a time of 20:46.7. Molly Dreher followed Stanziano, finishing in third with a time of 21:12.3. Just 0.2 seconds behind her was Kaylee Barnes in fourth place with a time of 21:12.5. Eleanor Jepsen hit a new PR, finishing sixth in the invitational with a time of 21:38.6. Trailing her by two seconds was Emily Fields with a time of 21:40.3 in seventh place.
The Gaels top finisher at the Pacific Invite for the men was San Andersen, who competed in his first collegiate cross country race and finished in 26th with a time of 25:56.2. Josh Habash was the next Gael to finish with a time of 26:19.0, setting a new PR by nearly 19 seconds. Jacob Bravo came in 45th place with a time of 26:20.1, Angel Castro finished in 53rd with a time of 26:29.6, and Payton Fox, with a time of 26:38.2, finished in 58th.
THE LINE UP
The men who will be competing in the 8K College Invitational section will be racing at 8:45 a.m. The Gaels that are competing are Sam Andersen, Luke Bland, Troy Coulston, Aidan Donovan, Luther Hart, Cayden Hein, Eric Martinez, Blaine Reynolds, and Curtis Volf.
The women that compete in the 6K College Invitation will race at 9:30 a.m. The Gaels that are competing are Rayna Sanziano, Molly Dreher, Kaylee Barnes, Eleanor Jepsen, Klara Frih, and Luz Mercado.
SMC will also be competing in the Open races. The men will compete in the 8K at 10:15 a.m. Those Gaels who are competing are Alexandro Alverez, Max Barnes, Jacob Bravo, Angel Castro, Payton Fox, Jason Habash, and Thomas Osborne.
The women who will compete in the 6K Open at 11 a.m are Ana Mercado, Emily Fields, Lauren Buckley, Michaela Martin, Callie Buchanan, Elizabeth Nip, Jillian Carrillo, Britney Perera, and Jane Carney. Zoe Baker-Cohn will also be competing, but will run unattached, not representing Saint Mary's.
