

WBB | Bamberger and Wedin Make WCC All-Conference

SAN MATEO, Calif. – Saint Mary's Women's Basketball had two players selected to the WCC All-Conference Team, with Ali Bamberger named to the first team and Taycee Wedin to the second team.
Bamberger has made the All-WCC First Team two years in a row now. The redshirt junior was named the WCC Newcomer of Year last season, after starting all 33 games and averaging 15.3 PPG and 9.3 RPG last season. This season she has played in 25 games with 14.0 PPG and 8.4 RPG this season.
She is ninth in the WCC in scoring, second in rebounds per game, and seventh in block per game. Earlier this season the Walnut Creek, Calif. native tied the program record for rebounds in a game with 24, and in just two seasons has racked up 855 points.
It's the fourth time Wedin has made a WCC All-Conference Team, making second team for the second year in a row, preceded by two seasons of making Honorable Mention.
Wedin is the conference's all-time leader in career three pointers made (399) and in a season (106). She is currently averaging 13.3 points per game which is 12th in the conference and is 40.4% from three-point range. This season the Gaels top shooter also has a 3.733 GPA in the Management and Technology Graduate Program.
Her 142 games played and 3,925 minutes logged are second all-time in program history, as is her 42% career three-point percentage. The Milwaukie, Ore. native's 1692 career points are currently sixth all-time in program history and she remains the all-time leader in free-throw percentage at 86.4%.
The Gaels begin play in the WCC Tournament on Thursday, March 2 at 2:30 p.m. versus LMU.
