GOING FOR THREE
Saint Mary's will look to win their third consecutive home WCC opener, after sweeping San Francisco last year, and downing Santa Clara in five in 2021. Both the 2021 and 2022 home conference openers featured heavy doses of Kristen Erland, who is averaging 12 kills per contest in WCC home openers for her SMC career.
ABOUT THE WAVES
Pepperdine has shaken off their slow 1-6 start to win their last five, moving to 0.500 on the season. Under the ninth year direction of Head Coach Scott Wong, the team looks primed to make a run at their fourth consecutive NCAA tournament berth. Through hot and cold spells, the most consistent Pepperdine player has been libero Riley Patterson. The two-time All-WCC honoree leads the Waves with 150 digs and 13 service aces. Pepperdine leads the all-time series, having won 55 of 71 all-time meetings.
