MBB | Luke Barrett Earns WCC Player of the Week Honors for Career Night vs Kent State

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — After a career showing against the Kent State Golden Flashes, Luke Barrett has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week. It is Luke's first time winning a conference player of the week nod. He is the second Gael to win WCC Player of the Week this season, joining Mitchell Saxen, who earned the honor two weeks ago.
Barrett could not be stopped off the bench against Kent State. The redshirt junior scored a career-best 19 points on 7-9 shooting from the field, connecting on a pair of threes. Luke also reeled in six boards, three of which were of the offensive variety, and recorded his first block of the season. It was Luke's third career contest scoring in double-figures, with the other two coming last season against Vermont (12 pts) and Academy of Art (15 pts).
Luke and the Gaels open up conference play this week, taking on San Diego on Thursday evening and LMU on Saturday evening, both on the road.
