DAVIS, Calif. – Saint Mary's Men's Tennis won the doubles point at UC Davis, but the Aggies came away with a 5-2 win on Saturday afternoon.
 
Carlos Ramos Membrives and Diego Jarry got the day going on the right foot for the Gaels, with a 6-2 win over Ryan Torres and Max Fardanesh. That was followed up by a 7-5 win for the French Connection of Mathis Moysan and Thibaud Maxant over Lucas Bollinger and Antreas DJakouris, and SMC was off to a great start.
 
Unfortunately, the Gaels would only get one singles win, when Moysan defeated Brett Brinkman 7-6 (6-0), 7-5. Maxant, Jarry, and freshman Paulo Hugo Etchecoin each took their matches to three sets, but ultimately the Aggies would win take each of those third sets on their way to the win.

UP NEXT:
It will be a quick turnaround for the Gaels as they will host a non-conference match against Santa Clara at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The teams agreed to the match to make up for both losing out on a contest when Idaho decided not to travel due to the rain. The match was originally scheduled for Thursday, but another rain out move the match to Sunday.
