TUCSON, Ariz. - The National Invitational Tournament concluded today, featuring the completion of round two (suspended due to darkness) and the entirety of round three.
Freshman James Watney led the Gaels, finishing at 7-under-par for the tournament with rounds of 71, 69, and 69. Following closely behind Watney was Connor Reis, who concluded at 5-under-par with scores of 73, 70, and 68, securing a T-41 overall finish.
During the third round, the Gaels displayed strong performances, with Bressum shooting an impressive -5 (67), Reis achieving -4 (68), and Watney securing a solid -3 (69). The playing conditions were optimal for low scores at Omni Tucson National, resulting in the Gaels finishing in 11th place at 18-under-par.
The University of New Mexico claimed the top spot, finishing at 51-under-par. Individually, Zac Jones of BYU emerged as the individual champion, finishing the tournament at 18-under-par.
UP NEXT:
Looking ahead, the Gaels will be traveling to Hawaii for the John Burns Intercollegiate scheduled for February 15-17 at Hokuala GC in Kauai.
