MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Women's Tennis team will compete in the Jack Kramer Invitational for the first time in program history. The Jack Kramer Invitational is hosted by West Coast Conference foe LMU and will be held at Rancho Palos Verdes. The event begins on Friday, November 1st and ends on Sunday, November 3rd.
GAELS RECAP
Just a few weeks ago, the Gaels competed in the ITA Regional Championship where
Olivia Rook led the team as she qualified to the round of 16.
Rook competed against Washington Sophie Luescher in the Main Draws and defeated her 6-1, 7-6(5). She competed later that day in the round of 32, where she took down Pacific Indiya McLeod 1-6, 6-3, 6-1. As she qualified for the round of 16, she took on tournament co-host Berta Folch Passola Sunday morning. Rook came up short 6-3, 6-1. In the Main Draws, Senior
Juliette Daries, made it out of the first round and shortly after fell short to Stanford Valencia Xu who was seeded seventh in the tournament.
Daries picked up another win in the Consolation Draw for the Gaels where she picked up another win against Fresno State Matilde Magrini 6-4, 6-1.
Madison Weekley competed in the Consolation Draw and defeated her opponent Sophia Sappa from Davis 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 64, followed by another win in the round of 32. She defeated Davis Madeleine Page 6-4, 6-1.
Seeded ninth in the tournament duo
Iman Khan and Rook competed in the Doubles Draw but an injury would force the match to end. Saint Mary's will compete in the Jack Kramer Invitational this weekend and then the San Diego State Fall Classic to conclude their fall schedule. Event updates and results can be found at smcgaels.com.
