MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Men's Tennis team is looking to push their win streak this weekend as they take on Gonzaga on Friday in Spokane and Portland on Saturday in Portland.

The Gaels opened WCC play by sweeping the Lions 4-0.
Thibaud Maxant and
Mathis Moysan started off the day with a 6-4 win under their belt for the first doubles match.
Carlos Ramos Membrives and
Ellison Greco clinched the doubles point by outlasting LMU Yassine Smiej and Toky Ranaivo 7-5.
Saint Mary's continued to dominate throughout the singles as
Paulo Hugo Etchecoin defeated Max Wuelfing 6-4, 6-2 to go up 2-0. Moysan gave the Gaels another point winning 7-5, 6-3, and Membrives clinched the win with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Arthur Pantino.
ABOUT GONZAGA
The Bulldogs last three losses have come within the past 11 days, losing to WCC competitors Portland 0-7, UC Irvine 3-4, and 0-4 to WCC Pepperdine. Even with the three losses, Gonzaga is 3-0 at home. Prior to the 2023-2024 spring season, the Zags clinched three championship wins at the Gonzaga Invite Finale. This is the third consecutive season that the Bulldogs clinched a doubles championship at the Gonzaga Invite.
ABOUT PORTLAND
Prior to the season, the University of Portland men's tennis team was picked fifth in the 2024 West Coast Conference. Due to graduation last spring, the Pilots lost a trio of fifth-year seniors, one of them being WCC Player of the Year. Throughout the season, the Pilates have been bouncing back and forth between their wins and losses but have lost their last two matches to San Diego State and WCC LMU. The Pilots are looking to get their second conference win of the season as they take on the University of San Francisco today.
