BVB | Couch Earns First Team WCC All-Academic, Five More Earn Honorable Mention

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — As just announced by the West Coast Conference, Sophomore Hannah Coach has been honored as a first team member of the WCC All-Academic Team. In order to be eligible for the WCC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must hold a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA, be a starter or important reserve player with legitimate athletic credentials, must be at least a sophomore that has at least on year of residence at their current institution, and must have competed in at least 50% of the team's competitions.

Couch checked all the boxes and then some, holding a 3.85 GPA as an english major on the teaching credential track at Saint Mary's. Despite only being a sophomore athletically, Couch has enough credits to be a senior academically. She has appeared in all 31 matches for the Gaels this season, amassing a record of 15-16 split primarily between the #1 and #2 slots for the Gaels.

While Couch was the only Gael on the WCC's 10 player first team list, five others were named honorable mention All-Academic: Karmin Brown (Gr., 3.82, Master's of Business Administration), Allie Cataldo (Jr., 3.88, Biology), Hawley Harrer (Gr., 3.40, Master's in Communications), Paola Peralta (Sr., 3.43, Psychology) and Sadie Shipman (Sr,., 3.37, Biology).

The Gaels kick off competition at the WCC Championship Tournament tomorrow, entering as the #3 seed.
