Amador Leads Offense in Four Game Sweep of San Diego, Earns Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week

MORAGA, Calif. — After the Gaels completed a four game sweep of San Diego, taking sole possession of first place in the WCC, catcher Jenavee Amador has been named the Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week. This is Amador's first time being honored as the department student-athlete of the week. She is the second Gael softball player to earn the honor, after Odhi Vasquez was honored on 4/8.

Amador went 6-12 at the plate in the Gaels four game sweep of San Diego, driving in five runs in an offensive outpouring of a weekend. The junior catcher was the only Gaels to log a hit in all four ball games, with two hits in games one and two. She also had at least one RBI in three of four. The junior out of Whittier was also behind the dish in the very game of the series, as she has done for every conference game this season.

Jenavee and the Gaels will host LMU in their final weekend of the season, in control of their own destiny. If the Gaels sweep the Lions, they will be WCC champions for the first time in program history, however, they can also win two or three games in the four game series and win the conference with help from San Diego.
