

BSB | Saint Mary’s Tanner Griffith Named to the WCL Summer All-Star Team

MORAGA, Calif. - Gaels true freshman Tanner Griffith is making a splash in the West Coast Summer Baseball League and with his team sitting in second place, Griffith earned a spot on the 2024 WCL All-Star team. Griffith was one of four Portland Pickles players to be named to the South All-Star team and is currently hitting .267 with 27 hits, four doubles and seven stolen bases. He's also been an on-base machine leading the entire league with 26 walks and ranks 10th with a .438 on-base percentage. His first half success has helped the Pickles to a 21-9 record, sitting alone in second place and just three games back of the first place spot in the South Division.
During his 2024 season with the Gaels, Griffith played in 52 games primarily as a center fielder and showcased his versatility finishing with a .300 average in 70 at bats and ten stolen bases, good for second most on the team. He recorded a season high three hits in a narrow one run non-conference defeat to Grand Canyon and also had six multi-hit games on the season.
