MORAGA, Calif. — After a 12 assist to one turnover week, sophomore guard
Jordan Ross has been named this week's Shamrock Office Solutions Student–Athlete of the Week. Ross captained the ship in the Gaels two victories this weekend over Pepperdine and Portland, leading the Gaels to a 39 assist to 16 turnover week as a team. This is the second time Ross has earned this honor this season, also doing so after a big scoring Thanksgiving weekend for the Gaels in the Acrisure Classic.
Jordan Ross provided 18 points for the Gaels over their two victories this past week, but it was his playmaking ability that earned him this week's recognition. Against Pepperdine, the Pleasant Grove, Utah native dished out a career best eight assists with no turnovers, making it his third consecutive game without giving the ball away. He followed that up with a four assist, one turnover performance at Portland, while scoring 14 points on 5-9 shooting. This week, Ross surpassed teammate Augustas Marciulionis for the team lead in assist to turnover ratio, now sitting at 2.74 for the season.
Ross and the Gaels will be back in action tomorrow, playing host to LMU at 8 PM.
