Mikey Lewis Drop 51 Points First Two Contests of 2025-26, Named Shamrock Office Student-Athlete of the Week
11/10/2025 3:30:00 PM | General, Men's Basketball
MORAGA, Calif. — While defense has so often been the calling card of Saint Mary's Men's Basketball over the past 25 seasons, it was the offense that shined brightest in their opening two contests, a pair of 20+ point victories over St. Thomas and Chattanooga. The Gaels scored a combined 171 points in those two contests, led by their terrific sophomore Mikey Lewis, who scored 51 of those, en route to earning his first Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week honor.
Lewis dropped his career-high of 23 points in just the second week of his freshman season a year ago against Nebraska. He opened his sophomore campaign by matching that mark against St. Thomas, then smashed it four nights later with a 28 point showing against Chattanooga. Lewis shot 58% from the field, and an even better 61.5% from three. The sophomore also was a perfect 15-15 from the stripe, helping the Gaels make 30 consecutive, a new program record, and added five assists (career-high) and three steals in the win over Chattanooga. The Oakland native currently leads the WCC in scoring, ranking 12th in the country at 25.5 points per game.
OTHER NOMINEES: Fynn Allmon (MSOC), Mauriana Hashemian-Orr (WBB), Sydney Middaugh (WSOC), Alayna Pearson (VB)
