WXC | Saint Mary’s Closes Out Season at NCAA West Regionals
11/14/2025 11:35:00 AM | Women's Cross Country
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Saint Mary's Women's Cross Country closed out their season with a 33rd place finish out of 39 competing teams at NCAA West Regionals. The team was led by younger Gaels for most of the season, continuously highlighting the promise and potential of a rising young roster.
Once again, Saint Mary's was paced by a youthful group, with four freshman and one sophomore finishing as the team's top performers. For the second competition in a row, Courtney Fitzgibbon paced the Gaels, crossing the finish line in 22:01.3 to take 123rd place. Next in for Saint Mary's was Zoe Leach, another consistent top finisher for this young team this season. The freshman finished the race in 22:18.9 for a 149th place finish. Lone sophomore Jane Harig stepped up once again for the Gaels, coming across in 22:23.1 and securing a personal best time for the second consecutive race. Rounding out the scoring were freshmen Maya Crimin (23:12.9) and Kelsea Cummings (24:02.4).
This final meet closes out a season in which freshmen led Saint Mary's in five of their seven competitions, including in larger scale races like the WCC Championships and now the NCAA West Regionals. The experience gained this season lays a strong foundation for the Gaels as they look ahead to the 2026 season.
