MBB | Offensive Outbreak from Campbell Earns him WCC Freshman of the Week Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — After going without a WCC Freshman of the Week honor in the 2023-24 campaign, the Gaels had two earn that distinction in 2024-25, and now have their first to win it in 2025-26, as Liam Campbell has been selected by the conference after a brilliant two game week.
Redshirt freshman Liam Campbell burst onto the scene for the Gaels this past week, dropping a career-high 20 in his third collegiate game against Ohio. Campbell connected on eight of 10 field goal attempts, including three of five from beyond the arc. He followed that up with another sharpshooting night against North Texas, knocking down three of his four field goal attempts, all from beyond the arc. Campbell is now the leading bench scorer for the Gaels, averaging 9 PPG, and is shooting a stellar 73% from the field and 50% from three through his first four collegiate games.
Campbell is the first Gael to win a WCC Weekly Men's Basketball Award this season. He and the Gaels will close out their season opening six game homestand this week, welcoming in Arkansas State and UC Merced.
