WXC | Trio of Gaels Earn Honorable Mention WCC All-Academic Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — For the eighth consecutive year, at least three Gaels have made their way onto the WCC All-Academic list, as Jane Carney, Jane Harig and Ava Luczkow have all been named honorable mention honorees. To be considered for a spot on the WCC All-Academic team, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team and in at least their second year at their school.
Jane Carney ran in five of seven races for the Gaels this year, scoring in the Kim Duyst. She picked up her first sub 23 minute 6K at the Bronco Invitational with a PR time of 22:59.4. A junior, Carney is studying applied mathematics at Saint Mary's with a 3.81 GPA.
Jane Harig ran in four of the seven races for the Gaels this year, scoring in the WCC Championship and the NCAA West Regional. At the regional, Harig set a 6K PR with a time of 22:23.1. The sophomore holds a 3.64 GPA as an english major.
Ava Luczkow ran in six of seven races for the Gaels this season, scoring in the Kim Duyst and the Bronco Invitational. At the Bronco, she ran a 6K PR of 22:37.8. The sophomore holds a 3.67 GPA as a biochemistry major.
