MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's Softball finished out their annual home tournament going 3-1, including a three game sweep of Weber State. Many players made significant contributions to this weekend's success, but
Braxton Brown likely had the most memorable weekend of any Gael. Entering the weekend, the sophomore had not logged a collegiate home run, run scored or RBI, but changed that with one swing of the bat in the opener vs the Wildcats and added four more RBI throughout the weekend.
After tossing the final third of an inning in the Gaels narrow 5-4 loss to Harvard, Braxton Brown started for the remainder of the weekend at DP. Brown logged the eventual game winning hit in game one against the Wildcats, a come from behind 4-3 victory. With the game tied at 3-3 in the sixth, Brown charged a ball to deep left center for her first collegiate home run. She then went 3-4 in game two, driving in three, and drove in the opening run in the finale, leading the Gaels to a three game sweep of Weber State.
Brown and the Gaels will be back in action tomorrow, playing host to Georgia Tech at Cottrell Field.
