ROME, Ga. - In their first ever NIT appearance the Saint Mary's Gaels pulled off a dominant sweep over Morgan State to advance to the semifinals and extend their 2025 season.

Pierre Lieutaud took the doubles point for the Gaels in straight sets, 6-1 6-3. Three of those four names would go on to win their duals and clinch the 4-0 sweep for Saint Mary's.
Maxant won in straight sets 6-2 6-3 while Dyer continued his solid freshman campaign with a 6-4 6-4 win over Morgan State's Niles Rachal. Lieutaud made quick work of Yessine Kerouat with a 6-0 win in the second set to help clinch the match victory for the Gaels. This was the team's first sweep of the 2025 spring season and their first match win since March 30th when they took down WCC foe Gonzaga 4-1 which ultimately led them to the conference tournament.

LOOKING AHEAD
Saint Mary's will advance to play Rider who defeated UNC Asheville in their quarterfinal match 4-1. That match will be played on Thursday, May 8th with times to be announced later this afternoon.
