Freshman Phenom Dillan Shaw Picks Up First Shamrock Office Solution Student-Athlete of the Week Honor

MORAGA, Calif. – The defending West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week, Dillan Shaw's encore performance this past week was even more impressive. The Northridge, California native had the best three game stretch of his young collegiate career, and, as such, has been named this week's Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week. Shaw is the third true freshman to win this award this year, and the first for men's basketball this year.

Over the 3-0 week for the Gaels, Dillan averaged 10.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, and shot a stellar 55% from the field and 57% from three. The freshman's breakout came in the finale of the week for the Gaels against Seattle U, where he dropped a career-high 20 rebounds to go along with seven boards and a career best six assists with no turnovers. Shaw buried 7-10 shots including 6-8 from three. With the Gaels down eight with two seconds remaining in the first half, and trailing by eight, Shaw through up a half court heave that went down at the buzzer to give the Gaels momentum that they would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest, an eventual 17 point win.
