MBB | Gaels Notch Program Record 24th Consecutive Home Victory, Down Pepperdine 88-60
2/11/2026 10:12:00 PM | Men's Basketball
MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's Gaels took care of business on Wednesday night in Moraga, defeating the Pepperdine Waves 88-60. The win marked the Gaels 24th straight victory inside UCU Pavilion, marking a new program record. The previous record of 23 games spanned from February 22, 2022 to November 30, 2022, and stood for four seasons.
The game was also Saint Mary's second annual Lithuania Night, and star Lithuanian forward led the offensive onslaught with 18 points, looking supercharged after hearing his home Nation's anthem play in pregame. Joining Murauskas in double-figures was Mikey Lewis, getting to double digits for the third straight game. Fellow starters Joshua Dent and Dillan Shaw each chipped in 12, with Dent adding 11 assists for his third double-double, and Shaw ripping down seven rebounds. Harry Wessels led the rebounding front with a career-high 11, helping the Gaels to a +21 rebounding advantage.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gaels (22-4, 11-2 WCC) rained three pointers at a staggering rate in the opening stanza, burying 10 in the first half, a new season-high. Not only did the threes come at a high volume, but also were shot at an efficient clip, as the Gaels went 10-16 in the half, building a lead as large as 20, before ultimately settling for a 48-29 halftime lead.
Saint Mary's used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to extend their lead over Pepperdine (6-20, 1-12 WCC) out to 31, the largest of the contest. The Gaels kept the lead right around the 30 point mark for the remainder of the game, eventually salting away the clock to the tune of an 88-60 victory. As the final horn sounded, the Saint Mary's fight song "On to Victory" rang through the stands for 24th straight home game, as the Gaels enjoyed their record breaking W.
GAME NOTES
The Gaels will hit the road on Saturday to open a three game road trip at Pacific. Tip off for that contest on February 14 is scheduled for 7:30 PM and can be watched on ESPN2.

GAME NOTES
- For the first time in program history, the Gaels have won 24 consecutive contests at home. The 24 game home win streak is good for the fourth longest active home win streak in DI College Basketball, while their 15 home wins is good for the second most of any team in DI College Basketball this season.
- The Gaels drained 10 first half three pointers, a new season-high, and the most in a half since they connected on 10 second half threes at San Diego on Jan. 11, 2025
- For the third time this season, and second time in as many games, Saint Mary's matched their season-high with 24 assists.
- Joshua Dent led that playmaking front, tying his career-high with 11, and registering his third double-double of the season.
- For the second consecutive Lithuania Night, Paulius Murauskas led all Gaels scorers, this year dropping 18 on 7-13 shooting and 3-4 shooting from beyond the arc.
- Mikey Lewis scored in double figures for the third straight game, something he hadn't accomplished since his season opening streak of seven straight in double digits.
- This contest marked the third time that the Gaels have shot better from three than from two this season, also doing so against Arkansas State (Nov. 19) and at San Francisco (Jan. 13).
- It was the sixth time that the Gaels have shot 50% or better from the field and from three in the same game.
The Gaels will hit the road on Saturday to open a three game road trip at Pacific. Tip off for that contest on February 14 is scheduled for 7:30 PM and can be watched on ESPN2.
