MORAGA, Calif. — To call last week a big week for Paulius Murauskas would be an understatement of epic proportion. The junior big man from Kaunas, Lithuania averaged a double-double over the Gaels two victories against Pepperdine and Pacific en route to scoring his 500th point of the season, and his 1000th career point. This earned him both his second Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week nod of the season and the third of his career at Saint Mary's.
Murauskas opened his week by scoring 18 points to lead the Gaels on Lithuania Night in an 88-60 win over Pepperdine. He tied his season-high with three made threes in that one, burying those on just four attempts. Murauskas followed that up with the game of his career at Pacific, scoring a career-high 32 points and tying his career mark with 15 rebounds, on his birthday, no less. This helped Paulius score his 500th point of the season (first Gael since Logan Johnson in 2022-23 to score 500 in a season) and his 1000th career point (split between Arizona and Saint Mary's). Murauskas currently leads the WCC with 519 points, and is looking to be the first Gael since Jordan Ford to lead the WCC in scoring.
OTHER NOMINEES: Alexys Carlson (WT&F), Tiana Fox (WTEN), Jacob Johnson (BSB), Thibaud Maxant (MTEN), Mia Nishikawa (SB), Abigail Shoff (WBB)
