MGOLF | Gaels Are In! Saint Mary’s Earns 11-Seed in Marana Regional for First NCAA Appearance Since 2019

MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's men's golf team sat at No. 67 in the Scoreboard Clippd rankings Wednesday morning, just hours ahead of the 2026 NCAA Regional selection show. Despite some nerves on their postseason fate, the Gaels had their name called as they earned the 11-seed in the Marana Regional in Arizona for their first NCAA Regional appearance since 2019.
The regional selection goes down as the 12th team bid in the program's history with all twelve coming under the leadership of head coach Scott Hardy. Saint Mary's had an impressive run as a program with five consecutive regional appearances from 2015-2019 but are back in the big dance for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Saint Mary's finished in the top-10 in eleven of its 13 events this year and also recorded eight top-5's, including a team best second place finish at their fall invitational in Monterey back in October. The Gaels feature a balanced lineup with a good veteran presence from the likes of seniors Aidan Lee and Mitchell Hoey as they'll gear up for a chance to advance to the National Championship for the first time since 2013.
Oklahoma State out of the Big 12 garners the number one seed as Saint Mary's will be the lone WCC participant in the field. The full list of regional participants can be found below:
