MGOLF | Four Gaels Named to WCC All-Academic Team

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - On Thursday, May 7, the West Coast Conference announced the 2026 All-Academic Team selections as Saint Mary's earned two First Team selections and a pair of Honorable Mention picks for four total All-Academic selections.
Redshirt junior Inigo Izuzquiza and senior Aidan Lee were named to the First Team for their first WCC All-Academic selections of their careers. Izuzquiza garnered a 3.92 GPA as a Finance major while Lee will cap off a decorated SMC career with a 3.66 GPA as a Business Administration major. Both golfers were consistent members of the team's starting lineup, finishing the regular season with scoring averages under 72 over their 13 events. Lee is no stranger to academic and athletic success as he is also a two-time Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar, winning the award in 2024 and 2025.
On the Honorable Mention list, senior Mitchell Hoey and redshirt sophomore James Williams also earned their first WCC All-Academic selections after a successful 2025-26 campaign. Hoey competed in the team's starting lineup in all 13 events and finished the spring semester with a 3.45 GPA as a Finance major. Williams was the Gaels' primary individual for the majority of the season, competing in eleven events throughout the year. In his first season eligible for the selection, Williams earned Honorable Mention status with a 3.61 GPA while majoring in Finance at Saint Mary's.

The Gaels had their name called for the 2026 Marana NCAA Regional to continue their 2026 season. They'll head to the greater Tucson area for their first regional appearance since 2019.
