MWP | Gaels Add Australian Utility Player Hamish Ellison for Inaugural Season

MORAGA, Calif. — With the first season in program history approaching, the Saint Mary's men's water polo team has announced the newest addition to the team, Canberra, Australia native and utility player Hamish Ellison.
Ellison has developed an extensive list of accomplishments throughout his athletic career. He has spent this past year competing for the Sydney University Lions in the Australian National League, while also competing with Canberra Kraken since 2023. For the Kraken, Ellison earned a First Seven selection and tournament MVP honors at the 2026 Australia Cup. While competing with the Gungahlin Dragons, Ellison most recently earned first grade men's MVP for the 2025-2026 season.
Ellison has also represented the Australian Juniors squad on the under-20 team since 2024, as well the under-18 and 16 teams. During that time, Ellison traveled for international tours in both New Zealand and the United States.
With his international success and experience, Ellison will look to make an immediate impact to the Gaels' lineup in the upcoming inaugural season.
