WBB | Saint Mary’s Announces 2026-27 Schedule; Season Opener Set for November 4 Against Stanford

MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's women's basketball team officially announced its 2026-27 schedule on Tuesday, along with the announcement of the full West Coast Conference slate released earlier today by the conference office. The Gaels are set to open the season on the road against ACC member Stanford on November 4 before kicking off home competition against Chico State the following week on November 10.

Non-Conference Slate…
Saint Mary's will start its 2026-27 campaign on the road for the fourth consecutive season, opening up against Stanford for its first matchup with the Cardinal since 2000, and just the fourth all-time meeting. The Gaels will return to UCU Pavilion for their home opener on November 10 against Division II member Chico State, marking the second consecutive meeting with the Wildcats.
The full non-conference schedule features 14 contests, six away, four home and four neutral contests in a pair of MTE's. Of the 14 games, six are repeat opponents from the 2025-26 season, while the other eight matchups will be first-time opponents to this year's schedule. The Gaels' featured contest in their home non-conference slate includes a battle with Pac-12 member San Diego State on December 9. The Aztecs were one of nine teams to join the reconstituted Pac-12 conference, as the two programs will meet in UCU Pavilion for the first time since 2007. The Gaels' non-conference slate will end on December 22 with a road matchup at Boise State for the first meeting between the two programs since 2022.
A Pair of MTE's; Trips to Hawaii and Frisco…
Saint Mary's doubled down on this year's schedule, with not one, but two MTE's to close out the month of November. The Gaels will partake in the annual Bank of Hawaii Classic, starting on November 13, and will then return to Frisco, Texas for the Hoopfest Classic, starting on November 23.
Saint Mary's was last in Hawaii for the annual MTE during the 2024-25 season, when they went 2-0 with wins over Eastern Washington and Louisiana Monroe. The Gaels competed in the first edition of the Hoopfest Classic just a season ago, where they faced off with Oregon and North Texas. They will return to the Comerica Center in search of their first win at the event here in 2026.
WCC Schedule Breakdown…
West Coast Conference action is set to start on Thursday, December 31 with a Southern California road trip to San Diego and LMU. The Gaels' conference home opener will include a two-game home stand against Santa Clara and Pepperdine starting on January 7. An even ten WCC women's basketball members will allow for nine home and nine road games. Saint Mary's will cap off its 2026-27 conference season with a home game against LMU on February 27 before gearing up for the 2027 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Championship starting on March 5 in Las Vegas.
The entire West Coast Conference will also welcome first-year member Denver, who officially joined the conference in affiliated sports this fall. The Gaels and the Pioneers will first face off in Moraga on January 23, before Saint Mary's makes the return trip to the Mile High City in the final week of conference play on February 25.
