WSOC | Saint Mary’s Ranked No. 25 in Latest Top Drawer Soccer Poll

LONG BEACH, Calif. - For the first time this season, the Saint Mary's women's soccer team was ranked in the top 25 in the latest Top Drawer Soccer Poll. The Gaels are the only non-Power Five school in the rankings, as they enter the week 6-0-4 and remain one of seven teams in the poll yet to lose a match this season.
Saint Mary's holds the second-longest unbeaten streak in the country at 16 matches and remains the only team in the WCC yet to lose a match. The Gaels held No. 14 Georgetown to a 0-0 draw at home, and would open the season with eight straight shutouts, good for a new program record. The Gaels then drew with No. 18 Utah State this past weekend 1-1, nearly pulling out a road victory against an Aggies squad that holds the longest home unbeaten streak in the country at 33 matches.
Saint Mary's was a mainstay in last year's Top Drawer Soccer poll, ranking as high as 22nd after their 1-0 victory at LMU, a match that featured a stellar Ashlyn Vaughn goal that made its way to SportCenter's Top 10. Vaughn has been outstanding to open the season, as her seven goals this year are tied for the WCC lead and rank 19th in the country.

Saint Mary's will open up West Coast Conference play this week, taking on the Denver Pioneers on the road this Saturday, September 27 at 6 p.m. The match can be streamed live on ESPN+ and tickets can be purchased HERE.
