VB | Kelnarova and White Earn First WCC Weekly Honors of their Careers

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — For the first time this season, the Saint Mary's Volleyball team picked up weekly recognition from the West Coast Conference, with a pair of players, Antonie Kelnarova and Sadie White winning Defensive Player of the Week and Setter of the Week respectively. This is the first time since Nov. 24, 2025 that the Gaels have won a WCC weekly award, and the first time since Oct. 27, 2025 that the Gaels have won multiple WCC weekly awards in the same week.Â
Normally known for her offensive prowess, the word of the week for Antonie Kelnarova was defense, leading the Gaels to their first 2-0 start in conference play since 2022. Kelnarova led the Gaels in both matches for digs, tallying 37 on the week, including a career-best 20 in an upset win over San Diego, snapping their 20 game conference unbeaten streak. Kelnarova ranks second on the team with 157 digs, and leads the team with 368 successful serve receptions on the season.Â
Sadie White logged double-doubles three and four in a row this week, helping the Gaels to their first 2-0 start in WCC play since 2022. The sophomore transfer has now clearly cemented herself as the Gaels top setting option, and did a bit of everything this week, with eight kills (one error) on 18 attempts, 86 assists, and 25 digs. Her four straight double-doubles are a new career-long streak. White currently leads the Gaels with 317 assists and ranks third on the squad with 88 digs.Â
Kelnarova and White will look to stay red hot as the Gaels head back to Southern California to take on LMU and Pepperdine this week.Â
